Badr in his own words
Badr from Saudi Arabia – Eastern Province – Khafji. Age 33, height 175 cm, previous weight 145 kg.
I was strongly against sleeve surgery, and I tried all kinds of diets but nothing worked. My cousin had the surgery with Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi and kept praising his work and the medical team, and for a long time after the surgery he received care and follow-up from a doctor who works with Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi. He kept advising me to have the sleeve, but I was against it.
Then overnight I prayed for guidance and decided to have the surgery when I saw the care after the operation. My cousin’s friends had also followed his advice, gone to Jordan and had the sleeve. I was in touch with them and could see how comfortable they were, and the follow-up and care from the doctor were there; they all praised the team’s work.
So I put my trust in God, contacted the doctor, went to Jordan and had it done with Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi. The whole medical team showed the utmost respect and humility.
It has now been 6 months and three days since the surgery. I weigh 89 now and I’m still losing, thank God. I now feel comfortable psychologically, emotionally and physically.
I would like to thank the doctor very much for her care, attention and cooperation with me and with everyone who had surgery with Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi. To this day she stays in touch and takes care of us with plans, advice, information and answers to our questions. Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi is lucky to have her, may God grant her success. I’d like to tell you her name in brackets so you remember it once you deal with her and see the height of her dedication: (Dietitian / Sally Abdo) 🌹

He went from 145 kg to 89 kg, a loss of 56 kg, in 6 months after surgery, and his weight is still coming down.
What is “qass”? Is it the same as sleeve gastrectomy?
Yes. “Qass” is the common name in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf for sleeve gastrectomy, in which most of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a small tube-shaped stomach that reduces portion sizes and hunger.
