Mohammad in his own words

From Jordan, Mohammad Jamal Al-Nuairat. Age 29, height 169 cm, previous weight 198 kg.

I was hesitant about the sleeve and not convinced by it. I did a harsh diet but it didn’t work, and I love food... Then the complications started: my knees got tired, I developed blood pressure and diabetes and pain in my joints. I found no solution but the sleeve.

People recommended Dr. Mohammad Abdulwahab Al-Zaitawi and dietitian Sally Abdo, and I didn’t hesitate. I went to Dr. Mohammad and had the sleeve. Thank God, with dietitian Sally Abdo’s program I reached 74 kg within a year.

Thank God, a whole life changed for me; my whole life changed. I’m still working on myself with Dr. Sally Abdo to keep my weight. All this is thanks to God and then to Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi and his medical team, Dr. Sally Abdo and Nabila, you never fell short. All thanks and respect to Dr. Sally Abdo and Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi.

When the complications of obesity began

Mohammad weighed 198 kg at 169 cm, very severe obesity with a BMI of about 69, at only 29 years old. He was not convinced about the sleeve and tried harsh dieting with no benefit, until complications started to appear: tired knees, high blood pressure, diabetes and joint pain. He then decided the sleeve was the solution and went to Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi on people’s recommendation.

One year: 124 kg lighter and a different life

After surgery Mohammad followed the program of dietitian Sally Abdo and reached 74 kg within a year, a loss of 124 kg. He says “my whole life changed”, and he is still working with the dietitian to keep his weight, thanking Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi and his medical team.

The journey, step by step

  1. Before surgery: 198 kg

Very severe obesity at 169 cm, and a harsh diet that failed.

  2. Complications appear

  3. The decision and sleeve surgery

Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Mohammad Al-Zaitawi on people’s recommendation.

  4. An ongoing nutrition program

Commitment to dietitian Sally Abdo’s program.

  5. One year later: 74 kg

124 kg lost, a different life, and ongoing follow-up to keep the weight stable.

Doctor's comment

When obesity causes high blood pressure, diabetes and knee and joint pain at a young age, surgery becomes a health necessity, not a cosmetic choice. Weight loss on this scale is an exceptional result that reflects great commitment. Blood pressure, blood sugar and joint pain often improve with weight loss, but any change to medication must be made only under medical supervision. We recommend continuing with protein, vitamins, exercise, regular blood tests and follow-up to keep the weight stable. Results vary from patient to patient.
